Prof. M. Concepción Gimeno Floría (PI, Research Prof. at the ISQCH)(RG) gimeno@unizar.es

Dr. Olga Crespo Zaragoza (Lecturer at the University of Zaragoza) (RG) ocrespo@unizar.es

Prof. Dr. Elena Cerrada (Professor at the University of Zaragoza) (RG) ecerrada@unizar.es

Elena Cerrada obtained her bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) in Chemistry in 1990 at the University of Zaragoza and completed her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry in 1994 from the same university, under the supervision of Prof. M. Laguna and Prof. A. Laguna. She enjoyed two stays at Durham University and Southampton University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Martin Bryce and Prof. Dr. Mike Hurtshouse, respectively. She started an appointment as Assistant Professor at the University of Zaragoza, where she was promoted several times until the current Professorship in Inorganic Chemistry (since 2023). She is deputy director of the Institute of Chemical Synthesis and Homogeneous Catalysis (ISQCH) since April 2021. Her scientific interests are focused on the design, study and analysis of noble metal complexes with a specific purpose, based on their applicability. With that idea, she has focused her research on properties such as electrical conductivity, catalysis, vapochromic compound sensors, solubility in aqueous media and biomedical applications mainly in the treatment of cancer and Alzheimer’s.

Juan Carlos Pérez-Sánchez, born in 1999 in Zaragoza, Spain. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with the highest honors, receiving the “Bachelor Extraordinary Award” from the University of Zaragoza in 2021. In 2023, he completed a Master’s degree in Molecular Chemistry and Homogeneous Catalysis, also with honors and an “Extraordinary Award”. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Zaragoza, supported by an FPU grant, his research, supervised by Dr Raquel P. Herrera and Prof. M. Concepción Gimeno, focuses on Group 11 Metals & Ferrocene Chemistry, aiming to develop molecular complexity for diverse applications in catalysis, synthesis, reactivity, and exploration of biological properties.
